Computer Programmer and R&D Specialist
We are looking to fill a full-time permanent computer programmer and R&D specialist position for our office in Canmore, AB.
About the position:
We are looking for a programmer to lead our R&D efforts. We require a person with experience working in a multitude of programming languages mostly in a web environment and with a variety of hardware systems including network cameras, high speed cameras and LLRP readers. The role requires exceptional troubleshooting skills and creative thinking. You should be able to operate for long period of times without supervision and to develop your own solutions without any direction.
As the lead R&D programmer, you will be required to constantly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems and a strong reverse-engineering ability is a huge plus. Understanding of race timing technologies, procedures, and systems will certainly be advantageous.
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of working in the web environment and with web technologies.
- 1+ years of developing mobile compatible web applications.
- 1+ year of working with embedded systems.
Requirements:
- Strong programming abilities in Python, C/C++, C#, JavaScript and HTML/CSS.
- Proven experience with developing and compiling C/C++ programs for embedded systems.
- Experience working with IIS, SQL Management Studio, and the .NET 4+ framework.
- Experience working with relational databases including Postgres, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience working with VAPIX (AXIS Communications Open API).
- Extensive experience with the latest web technologies in particular WebSockets-driven web applications.
- Strong understanding of the TCP/IP suite and extensive experience working with TCP/IP sockets in the linux environment.
Advantages:
- Experience working with the OpenCV library.
- Experience with race timing.
- Understanding and working knowledge of the LLRP standard.
- Familiarity with the Impinj UHF RFID products a definite plus.
- Experience with developing native mobile Android and iOS applications is a plus.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to respond quickly under pressure - race timing is a high pressure environment.
- Creative & graphic design skills not required but considered a plus.
