May 3, 2020 - Walk/run or roll 3, 5, 10 or 19k - with Yellowknife Multisport Club and Yellowknife True North Rotary Club - and help our YK community!

This is the first in the popular “5k Fun Walk/Run Challenge” event where you complete 3 or more of these challenges to earn a Glorious Series Medal and the adoration of all your friends and family who lack this experience and medal!

Can I do this run outside of Yellowknife? We encourage fitness anywhere in the world everyday, but for liability reasons this virtual event is restricted to Yellowknife on May 3.

The May 3 event is in support of YK local coffee shops and staff.

• Your $30 race fee gives you a $20 gift card event "medal" to a local coffee shop
• Remaining proceeds will be given as a tip to staff at local coffee shop(s)
• Any additional tips in your race fees will go directly to staff as a tip at a local coffee shop
• Opt out of receiving a gift card event “Medal” and give that as a tip to the hard working coffee shop staff.

#1 rule - People should ABSOLUTELY NOT be doing this as an organized group run. This is a Physically Distancing event and all rules in place from the GNWT, federal and local governments MUST be respected. READ THE WAIVER CAREFULLY.

Plan your own route outside and physically distant from others — or indoors on a treadmill. It’s your choice. Walk/Run/Roll - anything non-motorized - just be legal and be safe! Do it on your own time on May 3 *or* tune in to our virtual starting corral on Zoom for the mass physically distant start! Then take Zoom with your or tune back in at your finish line. Share your results in the Zoom chat or brag on social media!

As usual please note this is a fun non-competitive event!

If running outside be sure to:

• bring a phone with you for emergency,
• plan proper fueling (food/water),
• dress for the conditions,
• plan your route to avoid congestion and traffic,
• DO NOT use headphones,
• notify someone of your route, started and finish (RoadID has an app!)

As with all Series events, there are no prizes for first place. The only requirement is that you participate and have a good time. Run for a PB, walk with a dog or just have a nice day out celebrating how we can come together as a helping community while being active.

Cost : $30 (participants aged 17 and under are free, however free race participants won’t receive a gift card)

If a person 17 and under wants a gift card medal please sign up as a regular $30 participant.

Virtual starting corral on Zoom (optional): May 3, 2020 at 9:45 am . Zoom meeting will be open from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm . Instructions will be sent Saturday May 2, 2020

Starting Time:

Zoom Racers : Race starts at 10:00am (Zoom meeting will be open until 1:00 pm )

Personal Convenience Racers : what ever time is personally convenient

Starting/finish line:

The starting corral is your Zoom meeting window. Be on Zoom at the starting bell. Check back in at the end of your race (Zoom meeting will be open until 1:00 pm )

Or, complete the event on your own time and send us your results - either the time or “Completed.” No proof required. We are on the honour system.

Gift Certificate Medals will be delivered to the address provided in registration so please be accurate in your mailing or delivery address. If you prefer the medal mailed please let us know.
