2017 Nova Scotia Cross Country Skiing Competition

Dear Coaches & Skiers;

The Martock Nordic Ski Club and Cross Country Ski Nova Scotia (CCSNS) invite you to participate in the Martock Nordic Ski Competition February 25 and 26. The event will be conducted on the 2011 Canada Winter Games trail system at Ski Martock near Windsor, N.S.  We’ll be using a portion of the Canada Games course to make it enjoyable for all level of skiers.

The event will feature Free Technique (skate) Mass Starts on Saturday, Feb 25 and Classic Interval Starts races on Sunday, Feb 26.  Both events will have food, medals and prizes.

Host Club: Martock Nordic Ski Club (MNSC)

Location: Martock Ski Resort, 9 km. from Windsor, N.S. on Highway 14

Race Headquarters: Ski Martock

Eligibility: Membership in Cross Country Canada required, usually through member clubs.

*If you are not a club member within Canada, you must electronically agree to the Cross Country Canada “Informed Consent and Assumption of Risk Agreement” when registering on Zone4.  It must be completed or registration will not be completed.

Rules: Current edition of Cross Country Canada rules will be enforced.

Entry Deadline: Register on Zone4 ( www.Zone4.ca ) no later than February 24th at 8:00 p.m. AST.

Event Schedule:

Saturday, Feb 25th

1230 - 1345     Bib pick up on main level of Nordic Building in stadium area.  If you need a trail pass, please pick up from small building on nordic side of parking lot.

1345 Race briefing on back deck of Nordic Building.

1400 Free Technique Mass Start Races Start (Atom to Masters)

1600 Meal, awards, draw prizes

1700 Tidy up and go home.

Sunday, Feb 26th

0830 - 0945     Bib pick up on main level of Nordic Building in stadium area.  If you need a trail pass, please pick up from small building on nordic side of parking lot.

0945 Race briefing on back deck of Nordic Building.

1000 Classic Interval Start Races Start (Atom to Masters)

1200 Meal, awards, draw prizes

1300 All cleaned up and go home

Awards: Prizes and medals for the top three of each age group, male and female.  Participation medals for all Atom and Peewee entrants.  Draw prizes at the end.

Cancellation/Relocation: In the event of cancellation the Administrator of Cross Country Ski Nova Scotia will be notified by Friday, February 24th at 9:00 A.M. and this information will be available to the general public by calling (902) 425-5450 and asking for Sarah at extension 316 or check www.MartockNordic.ca.

Waxing Facilities: One of our storage garages (24x24) will be available for waxing.  The garage doors and windows must be open at all times and everyone waxing are responsible for cleaning up their mess.
