Welcome to the 36th Annual La Ronge Don Allen Saskaloppet!
Hosted by the La Ronge Ski Club with support from the Lac la Ronge Provincial Park, community sponsors and volunteers.
This year's Saskaloppet will be hold its main events on
Saturday, March 2, 2019
. For Saturday, skiers can choose to ski distance options of 2 km, 7 km, 12 km, 20 km, 38 km or the 56 km (the SaskEnergy Enduro).

The Don Allen Saskaloppet will once again feature a 2-day Kupesewin event with 3 categories (the Kupesewin Lite, the Kupesewin Marathon & the Kupesewin Sasquatch). Registration for the Kupesewin will be on a separate Zone4 registration page called "
La Ronge Don Allen Saskaloppet Kupesewin 2019
". Kupesewin skiers should go to that page to register.
Main Event Bib Pick-Up
Registration confirmation and bib pick-up for the main events will be held:
1) at the Meet & Greet at the La Ronge Legion Hall, 1400 La Ronge Avenue on Friday, March 1, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and2) at the La Ronge Legion Hall on Saturday, March 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Main Event Start Times & Locations
The 56-km event starts from the lake ice in front of the La Ronge Legion Hall at 1400 La Ronge Avenue at
8:30 a.m.
56-km skiers will head north on the Saskaloppet Trail to the Don Allen Trails where they will ski the "3-km loop" and the "Summit loop" before heading back to the finish.
The 7-km, 12-km, 20-km and 38-km events will also start from the lake ice in front of the Legion at
10:00 a.m.
7-km skiers will ski into the Nut Point Campground and then back to the Legion (but with the option of visiting "Peanut Grove" on their way back).
12-km skiers will ski the Saskaloppet Trail to the Checkpoint 1 cabin and back.
20-km skiers will ski the Saskaloppet Trail to the Checkpoint 2 cabin and back.
38-km skiers will ski the Saskaloppet Trail to the Checkpoint 3 cabin and back.
This year, the Saskaloppet is introducing the 2-km Jackrabbit Glide for younger skiers. This event will start at the Nut Point Campground at
10:00 a.m.
Parents or chaperones will be responsible for confirming registration and picking up transporting children in this event to the Nut Point Campground parking lot to access the special Jackrabbit Glide start/finish line.
Snowfall in the La Ronge area has been well above normal this year. Saskaloppet skiers can therefore expect trails to be in excellent condition with both a skate track and classic track.
