Introduction

Welcome. Run for the Hills is a community participation event hosted by the Menihek Nordic Ski Club and sponsored by many employers in the community. Run for the Hills is a running (or walking event) event for children and adults along Menihek’s trail.This year our children's race will be run on Bea's Pleasure and the adult race on Rideout's Run. Traditionally, this annual event draws 200 participants from Wabush, Lab City, and Fermont. The event will start at 1:00pm from the parking lot of the ski club. Random draw prizes and participation awards (children) are completed by 2:45pm. For insurance coverage purposes, all participants must register for the event including parents wishing to run/walk with their children.


RUN FOR THE HILLS 2020 COVID-19 EVENT RULES

Due to the current worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, there are new rules and regulations that must be followed to protect race participants, volunteers, and spectators. We ask everyone who will be joining us on October 4 th , 2020 to please review the following:

·        The lodge has a max capacity of 45 persons due to Government rules and regulations

·        Entrances and exits will not be through the same lodge doors. The lodge doors will be marked to direct patrons on how to enter and exit the building safely

·        Masks must be worn at all times by patrons in the lodge (or any other indoor buildings that may be in use for the event)

·        Masks must be worn outside if a distance of 2 meters between persons outside your bubble cannot be maintained

·        Racers do not have to wear a mask during the race, but will be required to wear a mask prior to the start of the race while lining up

·        Contactless pick-up of race bibs will be through the front window of the lodge

·        Drop off of race bibs must be contactless as per gov regs- drop off bin?

·        Participants must ensure to keep 2 meters apart while lining up for their bibs

·        Bottle water will be provided; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own water

·        Washroom facilities and sinks for washing hands will be available inside the lodge



ANYONE WHO IS UNWELL OR COVID-19 SYMPTOMATIC IS REQUIRED TO STAY HOME!


*These rules will be updated as further information becomes available from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador; therefore, we ask anyone who will be joining us on October 4 th , 2020 to review these rules prior to this event.
