Welcome to Sask Cup #8 and the 2024 Saskatchewan School Ski Championships

Hosted by the La Ronge Ski Club & Northern Sport, Culture & Recreation

The 26th annual Saskatchewan School Ski Championships will be held at the Don Allen Trails located 20 km north of La Ronge on Highway 102 on Friday, March 8, 2024. The Don Allen Trails parking lot is at the junction of Highway 102 and the Nemeiben Lake Road. The Ski Club's chalet and stadium area is about 75 meters north of the parking lot.

REGISTRATION FEES: Registration is $5 per skier to be paid at the time of bib pick-up or upon registration with credit card. Payment can be by cash or by cheque payable to "La Ronge Ski Club". Chaperones and/or coaches must also register. To register a relay team(s), it must also be done at the time of coach/chaperone registration.

MAIN EVENT: The main event is a free technique distance race where skiers can race using either classic technique or skate technique. Distances will range from 1 km to 8 km depending on skier age and whether they want to race competitively or non-competitively. Bib pick-up for the main event is on Friday, March 8 starting at 9:30 a.m. at the race office at the Don Allen Trails stadium.  Start time for the main races is 11:00 a.m. sharp!

SASK CUP SERIES: The School Ski Championships are part of Cross Country Saskatchewan's Sask Cup Race Series, and will be a Tier 3 event. As such, the event is open to skiers of all ages whether or not they are school students.

RELAY RACES: After the main event races, skiers can compete in team relays. The Junior Relay teams will consist of 2 boys and 2 girls from the same school from the Under 12 (U12) or younger categories. The Open Relay teams will consist of 2 boys and 2 girls from the same school from the U14-U18 categories. Entry fees for the relay races is $10 per team to be paid by Credit Card on Zone4 or at the time of bib pick-up with cash or cheque.

CASH SPRINTS: There will be fun, short distance cash sprints held in the stadium just prior to the awards ceremony for racers U18 and under. $10.00 for 1 st and $5.00 for 2 nd . A good chance to win some cash! No registration required.

FOOD: There will be a free hot dog lunch served at the Don Allen Trails stadium starting at 12:00 noon.
