For 2024, Gravel racing in BC just got even better! The newly formed VI Gravel Series hosted by Mosaic Forest Management takes gravel cycling enthusiasts through some of the most pristine and challenging terrain on Vancouver Island.  The series kicks off in April with the inaugural River City Gravel Fondo, with a series of route options hand picked by local Gravel Legend, John Vanderveen.  The Burnt Bridge Classic returns for it's sixth year as it moves into the month of May and is reformatted into a stage race. Lastly, the Nanaimo Unpaved event takes riders through undulating terrain located west of Nanaimo. Participants benefit from discounted pricing by riding all three events, with points given to top finishers towards the overall VI Gravel Cycling series hosted by Mosaic Forest Management.

Gravel Fondo’s are becoming one of the most popular mass participation cycling formats in North America, with some events drawing hundreds of participants and injecting hundreds of thousands of dollars of economic impact to respective communities.
