Turtle's Back Trail Run (or walk)

Date: Saturday, June 15th, 2024

We are excited to host the first ever Turtle's Back Trail Run at William Lake Provincial Park.

Whether you are new to running or a veteran of the trail running scene there is a distance for you! Come challenge yourself on the iconic Turtle's Back climb and enjoy the 360 degree views to the prairie below before descending the summit to continue around William Lake.

This is a fundraising event for the Turtle Mountain Nordic Ski Club. It will be a great opportunity to bring together the XC Ski and Trail Running communities and showcase the great trails of Turtle Mountain.

Location:

The Start/Finish will be from the day use picnic shelter near the main beach at William Lake Provincial Park. Approximately 2 hours 45 min from Winnipeg.

Race Schedule:

8:30-9:30 am - number pick-up

9:30 am - pre run meeting

10 am - 1 km run start

10:30 am - 5, 8 & 16 km run start

Lunch - free lunch will be available after the finish

Awards & Prizes - after the race finish Category awards and participant draw prizes will be given out.

There will be no on-course water/aid-station, participants should be self-sufficient. Participants doing the 2-lap race can have water/food at the start/finish area.

Part of the 8 & 16 km race is in community pasture land, cattle may be encountered on route.

T-Shirts

T-Shirts are included with early bird registration for the 5 km, 8 km and 16 km participants (before June 1st).

The will also be some available for purchase on race day, $15/kids, $25/adults.

A valid Park Pass is required for all vehicles.
