Welcome to the first Biathlon Competition being held at the Lake of the Woods Gun Club.

Lake of the Woods Gun Club is located at 71 Gun Club Road, 4 KM north of the Kenora bypass on Hwy 596. The entrance to the Gun club will be on your right and is easily recognized from the main road.

If you are coming from the west take the Kenora Bypass (17A) and continue until you see the Minaki Highway ( 596)  Turn left here and go 4km’s to gun club road.

Once you arrive on site there are three parking lots that you may use. Each lot is located approx. 300m from the range. Please ensure not to walk on ski trails as you approach the stadium. Pedestrian walk ways will be marked.

January 28th - Mass Start

• Three or four shooting bouts, missed targets elicit a time penalty
• Shorter course, largest targets for developmental (DEV) athletes

11:00 Coach meeting - timing hut

11:15 Coach and athlete meeting in range.

12:00- 12:45 rifle zero and pre-ski

13:00 competition begins

$25 per participant

Please note:

-Athletes without their own rifle may borrow one for the competition for an additional $15 per competition. This fee also includes ammo.

• mandatory Non - Biathlon Canada Insurance fee for all non members ($10 per day/per athlete)

Competitors carrying a firearm for the competition MUST present a valid Canadian Firearms Licence (PAL) at bib pick up.

Additional Important Information:

-Volunteers are the heart of any successful event. Please consider volunteering to help us make this event a success.

-Fees are non-refundable except in the event of race cancellation by the Organizing Committee.

-The Race Jury may modify the race start time, format, course and or distances due to snow/weather conditions.

• Competitors are responsible to ensure they compete on the correct ski trails and # of penalty loops correctly
• Competitors are responsible for shooting targets in the correct lane and position, i.e. prone or standing.
