Al Fisher Loppet, Black Jack 2024

Black Jack's Annual Loppet has been renamed in honour of Al Fisher.

Al was an integral part of Black Jack Ski Club and was especially memorable for his work with Black Jack's Skier Development Program. We are grateful for Al's support and are honoured to rename our Loppet as the Black Jack Al Fisher Loppet.



Skiers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us on March 9th.

The focus of the Loppet is fun and participation . Choose your technique and distance. Finishers receive a Mountain Nugget chococolate medal.




March 9th Schedule

  • 9:00AM Bib pick-up opens
  • 10:00AM Bib pick-up closes
  • 10:00AM Bunnies ( 150m )
  • 10:05AM 1km
  • 10:10AM 3km
  • 10:15AM 6km ( two loops of the 3km course )
  • 10:30AM 10km, 20km, 30km ( one, two, or three loops of the 10km course )

Waves are self-seeded, mass start. Be in the upper stadium with your bib on and ready to go for your scheduled start time.

Registration closes at noon on Friday Mar 8.

There is no registration on the day of the event.


Visitors coming from out of town can find accommodations from Tourism Rossland and are encouraged to visit the many local businesses that support cross country skiing at Black Jack, including Alpine Grind Coffee House , Mountain Nugget Chocolate Company , and Ferraro Foods .

40th Anniversary
