The Iqaluit loppet is an annual, 20 km community race (depending on weather), that can be skied with skating or classic (no tracks) techniques. The start and parking lots are at the Skican (5001 Iqaluit, NU). It is held since 2016, generally on the first Saturday of May. It features the Arctic landscape amid its vibrant community, and abundant pure oxygen from the Arctic air masses. The weather and snow conditions are those of the end of spring in the Arctic, with a generally thick layer of snow and a range of atmospheric conditions featuring the sun, the wind and the frozen precipitations.
