Biathlon races are open to all Registered athletes wanting to compete in a biathlon event.
Those new to the sport should register in the Development 1 Category which may see them shooting on larger targets with more relaxed shooting rules.
Dev 1 / Adult 1 category has the option of using EcoAim optical rifles or using a pool .22 rifle.
Dev 1/2, U17 Prone and Adult 1 competitors will only shoot from the prone position (laying down) and Dev 1/Adult 1 will be permitted to use a rest to stabilize the rifle during shooting.
Athletes not having their own rifle can elect to pay $10 per day of racing and have a rifle and ammunition provided to them during the race. Those using the general pool rifles usually shoot in the developmental categories.
ELIGIBILITY :
All participants must be a member of Biathlon Canada and have a division membership.
