This event is a Manitoba East Qualifier for the Manitoba Winter Games

Biathlon Race - Sunday, January 11th at Lake of the Woods Gun Club
Athletes registering for both races with receive a $10 discount on their registration fee.

1100 U12 2.5km Jackrabbit clockwise and Matoo’s return
1120 U14 4km Matoo’s and Jackrabbit clockwise
1150 U16 5km Two towers, Matoo’s, Jackrabbit clockwise
1230 Open and Masters 10km two times 5km course above, stadium lap
1230 Citizen racers 5km course above
Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be distributed after last finish
Registration Deadline Tuesday, January 4 @ 22:00
Competition Technique: Mass Start, Free Technique. This means racers
will start together at a pre-set time (start list will be posted by noon Friday January 9th, 2026).
Course Maps: Available at www.skikenora.ca and posted at race site. Course closes at 8 pm Friday night for final prep.
MB CUP POINTS: All CCSAM Club members earn points for their club based on
placing in each race and on the distance traveled to participate.
TEMPERATURES : will be cancelled on Friday at 4 pm if temperatures are not predicted to be warmer than -20. Race distances and times may be modified on race day for adults if between-18 to -20. Races for the under 12 year olds will be cancelled on race day if not warmer than -15.
MEALS: Chalet Concession
Mt Evergreen Concession will be open 10 – 4 pm and offers a
variety of options.
General Info for Sunday Biathlon Race
Lake of the Woods Gun Club is located at 71 Gun Club Road, 4 KM north of the Kenora bypass on Hwy 596. The entrance to the Gun club will be on your right and is easily recognized from the main road.
If you are coming from the west take the Kenora Bypass (17A) and continue until you see the Minaki Highway ( 596) Turn left here and go 4km’s to gun club road.
Limited parking near the range reserved for racers. Spectators and volunteers will park at the clubhouse and walk on the road to the range.
Please ensure not to walk on ski trails as you approach the stadium. Pedestrian walk ways will be marked.

- Four or five shooting bouts, missed targets elicit time penalty
- Shorter course, largest targets for developmental (DEV) athletes

11:00 - 11:45 Zero and pre-ski

Please note:
-Athletes without their own rifle may borrow one for the competition for an additional $15 per competition. This fee also includes ammo.
- mandatory Non - Biathlon Canada Insurance fee for all non members ($10 per day/per athlete)
There is no fee to use EcoAims Rifle for the competition
Competitors carrying a firearm for the competition MUST present a valid Canadian Firearms Licence (PAL) at bib pick up.
-The Race Jury may modify the race start time, format, course and or distances due to snow/weather conditions.
