2026 Spring Chicken Road Race

Location: Birds Hill Park, Manitoba

Race Day Sign-In/Registration: Pope's Hill parking lot, Registration opens at 9 AM and closes at 10:30 AM, Start at 11:00 AM. Please arrive early to allow time for road numbers pick-up.

Pre-registration Fee: $30.00, Pre-registration deadline is April 23 11:59PM .

Race day registration is $50.00, cash only

Race Categories: The race is open to men and women, Cat 1/2/3, Cat 4, Cat 5. New in 2026, Cat 3 starts together with Cat 1 / 2 as before, but is prized separately. This change is made to encourage Cat 4 riders to move to Cat 3

10:45 AM instructions & assembly at sign in/registration location, 11:00 AM start. Riders will ride neutral to the Bird’s Hill Park Loop (South/North Drive) where the categories will be started at intervals determined by the commissaires.

Race course is the Birds Hill Park clockwise full loop. Finish line is at the top of “Pan-Am Hill”.

Race format: Road Race, mass start

Distance: cat 1/2/3 - 8 laps, Cat 4 - 6 laps, Cat 5 - 4 laps


Feeding and material support information provided prior to race start. There will not be follow vehicles for each category. One follow vehicle will follow the last rider on the road. No personal/team/club follow vehicles are allowed on the race course.

Prizing will take place in the Pope's Hill parking lot following the completion of the Road Race.

You must be present to accept your prize. Organizer reserves the right to decide and change prizing. Prizing takes place on Pope Hill Parking lot (same location as registration) after the finish of the last race.

All racers must hold a current UCI/CCA racing license or a MCA citizen license.

Waiver MUST be filled out and signed for each racer.

Riders are required to wear a hard-shell ANSI or SNELL approved helmet while racing, warming up, and cooling down.

Courtesy and Safety: The courses are open and the public can access the course at any point. Signs will indicate that bike race is in progress, but marshals do not have authority to prevent people and vehicles from entering the course. Keep your head up at all times. Be courteous to all vehicles and pedestrians. No parking on the road.

You will need a Park Pass for your vehicle.
