Run Bowness began as a resident-led event created by a passionate group of runners in Bowness. The race has continued for over ten years, with the Bowness Community Association taking on the organizing role in 2019.
The event is possible with the support of volunteers, local businesses, and community partnerships. The race begins at the Bowness Community Centre, and the route goes through Bowness Park and Baker Park.
The event is intended to be a fun and accessible activity for residents of Bowness and Calgary, highlight the beautiful parks and pathways of Bowness, and support both introductory and competitive fitness activities for our community.
Registration fees cover some costs of the event, while business sponsorships cover additional costs.
All proceeds from the race and sponsorships go towards the costs of the event itself and future Run Bowness races.
Registration closes June 2, 2026.

Race package pickup is run by volunteers, please come in during the allotted times only.
Race Bibs can be picked up in the MAIN OFFICE (upstairs) of the Bowness Community Association (7904 43 Ave NW)
