RRNS&B and BAM are excited to present a summer biathlon race series using the EcoAim Rifles.

Races will all take place at Kings Park in Fort Richmond. See dates and times in the registration detail and posted on the BAM Event Website.

Races will consist of two running courses: Short (U13) and Long (>U13yrs)

Participants will run an “Individual” biathlon race consisting of five running loops and four shooting bouts. Missed targets will illicit a time penalty.

All shooting will be done in the prone position.

Race series will be a dry event and cancelled if the weather is too wet.

Number of racers will be limited to 40 for each event.

Pre-Race Sign-in

Wednesday Evening races will start at 6:30pm. Sign-in and Bib Pickup starts at 5:45pm. Zero and warmup 5:45pm-6:15pm. Please come early enough to familiarize yourself with the EcoAim rifle prior to race start and to get warmed up for the run component. Once we enter the fall races times will shift to 1:30pm race starts and 12:45pm sign-in, warmup 12:45-1:15pm.

Bib Pick Up

The race will begin at 6:30p.m. it is the athletes responsibility to ensure they have picked up their assigned bib and chip in time for their start.

Race Fee

The races are free to BAM members. Use the (BAMember discount code). Non Members can pay $15 per race to a maximum of two races per season. Non members will need to fill out a Tryout License . For insurance reasons all competitors must be registered with BAM (or tryout license 2/season). Memberships will be verified prior to allowing participation.

Membership with Bican and BAM will allow registered athletes to participate in summer/fall shooting camps and the 26/27 on snow race season in addition to the Summer Run & Shoot series. The minimum cost for a Bican/Bam athlete registration is $25 (Recreational Athlete) and is recommended for athletes interested in trying the Eco Aim (electronic rifles) in the summer Run & Shoot series or our Winter Competition Eco Aim categories. If there is interest in pursuing the sport of biathlon and racing in the snow season using the .22 caliber biathlon rifles other categories are available.

Cancellation Policy

In the event a race is cancelled due to weather concerns, a message will be posted on the BAM website by 4 p.m. that day, 10 am on Saturday race days. The summer Run & Shoot series are dry events , hopefully the rain will hold off on race days!!

We are unable to reimburse Bican/Bam membership or individual Run & Shoot race fees.

In the event you are not able to make it that night or you are not feeling well please email the organizer at biathlon@sportmanitoba.ca so that your name can be removed from the start list and fees can be transferred to the next race.
