The Nunavut Loppet is an annual community ski race held in Iqaluit, celebrating the spirit of cross-country skiing in the Arctic. The event brings together skiers of all levels to experience the unique beauty and raw energy of the North. The course winds through the Arctic landscape, offering wide open views, crisp air, and classic late-season conditions — from sun to wind, and everything in between. Skiers are welcome to participate using either skate or classic techniques (no set tracks).
This year, three distances are offered:
20 km, 14 km, and 5 km
.
The start and parking area are located at SkiCan (Lot 5001, Iqaluit).
Originally launched in 2016, the Loppet continues to grow, with a long-term vision of welcoming skiers from across Nunavut and beyond in the years to come. Whether you're racing, touring, or simply here for the experience, everyone is welcome.
