Over the past few months, Zone4 has been working to transition off of it's long time payment processor WorldPay to it's new Canadian based payment processor.  The new system allows the checkout process to happen right on Zone4's secure server without taking registrants to a 3rd party website for credit card entry and processing.  This change greatly improves the user experience as well as gives us complete control over how the payment process looks and functions.  This also greatly helps as to debug any problems as we are no longer reliant on the functioning of a third party website and all communication of credit card information happens securely Zone4 and behind the scenes with a secure server link to our new Canadian payment processor.  The new checkout has been rolled out in stages over the past few weeks with the Race Registration system getting upgraded first, following by the Club Registration.  The testing and performance of the new checkout has gone extremely well and the greatly simplified process has made payment much easier for registrants.  Below is an overview of the new checkout process.

The main Cart view now just contains one button on the right for 'Checkout" instead of the different CreditCard/MasterCard/Cash/Cheque payment options.

Clicking checkout takes you to the first page of the checkout which allows registrants to select their payment type.

Clicking Continue then presents the Payment Page

Completing this page and clicking Continue makes the payment and displays the receipt.  This simple two page checkout is a huge improvement over the many different pages that WorldPay used to display and it also eliminates the very problmatic Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode programs which have proven to be a far bigger pain for registrants that they have been worth for any added fraud protection for Zone4.
