Caledonia Nordic Spring/Summer Training 2019

Welcome to the 2019 Spring and Summer Training Program.

This program has been created to deliver solid athlete development and support by combining the spring and summer into one consistent program to provide a strong start to the 2020 Winter. This program is flexible to families who may take holidays or athletes who are enrolled in more than one sport.

We recognize that summer is an important time for families, so - except for Senior biathletes who shoot on Saturdays - training will occur during weekdays with a once a month full team training weekend. These weekends will focus on technical skills and/or volume. Parents can join the fun packed team building weekend get-a-ways.

The attached schedule specifies training time and does not include set-up time. Training plans will be adapted for athletes who may be away for a period of time. For athletes enrolled in other sports, our CNSC Head Coach, will meet with the other sport coaches to discuss how to best meet the needs of the athlete. All athletes’ progress will be monitored and receive feedback by the Head Coach to optimize their potential. New to this year will be an incentive program for athletes to complete their journaling and Training Peaks entries.

Biathlon Specific : Biathletes will be provided volume shooting blocks to ensure shooting requirements are met.

Optional Add On : Strength Training through UNBC. We have paired up with UNBC again to provide an additional strength training component.
