BNS Race/Recreational Sanction Application and Fee Payment
2020 Sanction Fees: Instructions IMPORTANT: New competitive sanction fee structure for 2020 (applies to ALL competitive events using Zone 4 chip timing) BNS is implementing for 2020 a new fee structure for competitive events. Instead of the flat rate of $150 for one race, with the reduction of fees for organizers hosting multiple events, there will now be a fee based upon the number of competitors at your event. You will not pay this fee up front: no change will be applied to your club when you register for your event. Once the event if complete, BNS will deduct the following fees from your race participant's registration fee the following:Adult racers: $ 12 per rider (U23 and older)Junior racers: $ 9 per rider (Junior and younger)These fees cover Insurance, Timing Chips, Head Commissaire and contribute to year end prizing pool. Mileage, food, and accommodations and additional commissars (if required) will be paid directly to the commissar(s) by you the event organizer at the end of the event. BNS HAS NOT RAISED IT'S FEES FOR RACE SANCTIONING. We anticipate that the new race fee structure, in conjunction with the new points/prize system, will increase racer participation, make it easier for race organizers, as well as creating a more exciting season for the racers. Please note that if your event is part of the Provincial points series for MTB or road, you are required to use Zone 4 chip timing. Competitive Events (NOT using Zone 4 timing) or non competitive events only! You will be charged an application fee of $125, regardless of the number of participants at your event. There may be further fees to extend coverage to your event. Other fees that need to be paid may be for event officials supplied by BNS (if required). If clarification is required on this, please contact Lorenzo. Fill out and submit one (1) sanction form per event or series that you wish to hold. The race sanction fee (payable to Bicycle Nova Scotia) must accompany your application. Please direct all correspondence regarding date selection to the Events Coordinator, Lorenzo Caterini at lorenzo.caterini@bicycle.ns.ca for approval prior to submitting your documents. Race organizers must have a technical license or full race license and must be a member of a BNS affiliated cycling club (this does not apply to non-competitive events)
