Sun Peaks Education Society Annual Membership Application

The Sun Peaks Education Society (SPES) is a registered charity, dedicated to providing, and operating an education and study facility to facilitate and enrich education of Sun Peaks area children. Members of the SPES appoint the Board of Directors and the SPES Board ensures that the operations of the SPES and the Sun Peaks Secondary Academy (SPSA) are managed in a financially and legally responsible manner and serve the mission of the SPES.

The Society, through its Board of Directors, manages, tracks and oversees the yearly budget, ensures that the governance structure is effectively serving the delivery of education while adhering to the principles, and ensures that the laws of the Society are adhered to in the employment of staff and in the operation of the Sun Peaks Secondary Academy. SPES members should have an interest in, understanding of, and support for the mission and goals of the Society. Members should also have an interest in ensuring effective financial-legal and structural operation of the educational facility.

Current staff, parents or guardians of children currently enrolled in the SPSA, and those who support the school through donations of human, and/or financial resources, and who meet the membership criteria described above, are eligible to become Full Members of the Sun Peaks Education Society.

* Membership is mandatory for families of students enrolled in the Sun Peaks Secondary Academy . The annual Full Membership fee is a minimum donation of $20.00 per person, and must be received in advance of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in order to be confirmed as a member at the AGM.

SPES memberships are yearly from July 1 to June 30 (of the following year) to allow for important Summer month information to be shared with existing and new student families.
