Whitehorse United FC
2020 OUTDOOR SOCCER
JULY 20- SEPTEMBER 25
*PLEASE READ*
as you all probably know, soccer this summer will be much different than we are used to. We have been approved to return to play this summer, but due to Covid-19 in a restricted way. We are allowed to return to training, and not games. This means we are unable to offer a recreational soccer league.
The Pre-Competitive & Competitive Stream will be training only.
The ages for the competitive training groups will be for both boys and girls:
u11 (born in 2009/2010)
u13 (born in 2007/2008)
U15 (2005/2006)
U17 (2003/2004)
There will be no heading the ball, and no touching the balls/equipment with their hands. All players and coaches MUST obey the Yukon Government's Safe 6.
• Physical distancing of 2 metres (6 feet)
• Regular hand washing
• Staying home when sick
• Not gathering in groups of more than 10
• Limit travel to rural communities
• Self-isolating when required by CMOH orders and recommendations
Following these guidelines is absolutely crucial for everyone to follow, or we may lose the ability to train. Yukon Soccer has released a return to play document. We will be starting out in Phase 1 . The document can be found on our website, whitehorseunited.ca under club news.
During Phase 1 we will have the following guidelines:
Players will be asked to bring their own soccer ball to practices if possible. In the event that a player does not have their own ball, the club can provide one. We will not be ordering uniforms, or handing out pinnies this year, so players should wear their favorite shirt!

We look forward to entering Phase 2 as soon as it
becomes possible. During which we will able to then introduce small group activities such as 1v1/2v1/2v2/3v2/3v3. Small games will be introduced in Phase 3.
The transitions of the phases will have to be approved by the Yukon Government, but for now, we are aiming for 4 weeks in each phase
It is also worth noting that coaches will be asked to take attendance should there be any spread of covid-19 we can do some contact tracing for who was at which practice. Players should check in with coaches to make sure they get marked as "here" on the attendance sheet. Parent contact info will be given to the coaches, so that if needed, the information will be provided to Yukon Health Services for contact tracing purposes.
Parents are asked to complete this RESPECT IN SPORT on-line module before registration. We also ask that you read the following policy on hygiene here
