A Sort of Virtual event...

August 8, 2020 - Run/walk or roll the 3K or 5K route and raise money for charity while you do it! The Rainbow Run is an exciting part of the Yellowknife Pride Festival. Wear your rainbow gear and lets sprinkle the city with all of the colours of the rainbow.  This is also the 4th of 6 runs in the 2020 YKMC/Rotary 5k challenge!

But how it is the sort of Virtual?!?!

The event will start off with a ZOOM meeting, BUT you do not have to participate in the ZOOM meeting to take part in this event. don't let ZOOM hold you back! There is NO ZOOM Finish line.

The event starts at 10am, your route is your choice. We will announce a location for you to run by and see us cheering for you, handing out pride flags and playing music. For everyone completing their 3rd of 6 events you can also pick up your medal . You cannot hangout with us for long, but we will cheer you onto victory!!

This event's proceeds will go to the Rainbow Coalition of Yellowknife, a local outreach organization to support LGBTQ2S(PLUS) youth and their allies in the Northwest Territories. As an organization, they strive to make the Northwest Territories a safer, more open, more knowledgeable place for all LGBTQ2S(PLUS) and allied youth.

This event is open to all run/walk levels. Strollers, wheelchairs and handcycles welcome.

Cost to participate is $20 with an option to contribute more if your heart desires. 17 years and under are free as normal. If you would like to participate but are experiencing a financial barrier in doing so please send a Facebook message to Yellowknife Pride or email astdenis@gmail.com .
