
2020 Muskoka Fat Bike Race
Welcome to the Registration for the 2020 Muskoka Fat Bike Race hosted by the Huntsville Mountain Bike Association.
Where: Main Street, Huntsville, ON
When: Saturday February 22, 2020, 4 pm- 7 pm
Registration Instructions:
- Registration will be at the main floor of the Algonquin Theater which is attached to Huntsville Town Hall.
- Race Plates must be picked up and waivers signed by participants by 3 pm. Registration Closes at 11:59 Friday February 21 pm. No day of registration.
*note - a $50 charge will apply for non-returned chips
Course Description:
An exciting 850m lap in downtown Huntsville on groomed trail with course lighting, during a winter festival. Racers will be riding the same course as the OFFSA nordic ski sprint championships. Snow will be brought in for the event covering main street, while fans and shoppers alike will line the course. Racers will even be able to ride over the fans as a huge pipe will he installed to allow pedestrians to cross under the course. This is an exciting, first of its kind Fat Bike race in Ontario. With a short course, racing will he exciting and possibly down the wire in most events. If you've ever heard of a Criterium in road racing, expect a similar experience at the Muskoka Fat Bike Race. Come join us for the most unique cycling event in Ontario of 2020.
Feed Stations:
River Mill Park - for competitive races only.
Prizes and Awards:
Medals and cash prize for top 3 in Competitive Open Men & Competitive Open Women. Medals and prizes for top 3 in Youth (13 and under) and beginner Open Men and beginner open women
Race Day Details:
- Kids Race 4:00pm - 15 minutes 1 lap
- Beginner Open Men and Women - 5pm - 30 minutes 2 laps
- Competitive Open Men and Women - 6pm - 45 minutes 2 laps
*Please note, lapped riders will be pulled from the course at the end of their timed event allowing the leaders (non lapped riders) to race for the finish line unobstructed. All pulled riders will still get a finishing time and place in the order of their positions.
Equipment:
Bikes equipped with 3.8 inch tires + and self propelled. The course will be lit, but bring lights for added illumination.
