Like many other Nordic ski clubs and sport organizations throughout BC and Canada, Nelson Nordic Ski Club recognizes that our desire to keep programs open and accessible to as many people as possible must also be balanced by our duty of care to staff, volunteers and other participants in our programs.
In compliance with recent orders from the Provincial Health Officer, all staff, coaches, and volunteers in Nelson Nordic Ski Club programs (including the Skills Development Program, Track Attack, Junior Racers, Masters and Adult Lessons) and participants 22 years of age and older MUST provide proof of vaccination with a government-approved vaccine.
The Board has decided to allow participation of unvaccinated youth (ages 21 and under) in the OUTDOOR portions of Nelson Nordic Ski Club programs only.
To participate in INDOOR portions of the program -- including, but not limited to, group indoor training sessions, group travel, group meals, and shared accommodation -- participants MUST be double vaccinated with an approved government vaccine. For youth who wish to participate in indoor programming, the first dose of the vaccine must be received by November 2, 2021, and the second dose no later than December 1, 2021.
IMPORTANT: As stated previously, the general public (not participating in sanctioned club programming or events) is NOT required to be vaccinated to use the ski or snowshoe trails at Nelson Nordic Ski Club. However, we continue to ask everyone accessing our trails to observe social distancing and wear a mask when within 2 metres of others.
