South Canoe Youth Race
The Shuswap Bike Club is proud to be hosting a free, fun, one-day youth race. The race is open to riders from anywhere up to the age of 17.
When: Saturday, September 23, 2023
Tentative schedule:
- 9am - check-in, bike check, warm up
- 10am - cross-country race
- 12pm - mid-day snacks!
- 1pm - downhill race
- 2pm - BBQ and awards
Race routes are tbd but will vary depending on the category.
Awards and Prizes:
There will be prizes for top riders in each category as well as some fun door prizes.
Also, raffle tickets are available for purchase for a chance to win a 2016 Liv Intrigue mountain bike! Tickets are $5, proceeds to the Shuswap Bike Club. Huge thanks to the Broadwells for their generous donation.
Please make sure your bike is in good working order!
- mountain bike that is the appropriate size and suitable for ups and downs
- brakes that will work on steep hills
- gears that shift smoothly and will be easy enough for steep climbs
- tires with knobby tread to grip on loose trails
- all the bolts are tight and wheels turn smoothly and are not warped
