Don't Get Lost in the Woods - Walk or Run Race

SATURDAY - SEPTEMBER 6, 2025

All skill levels welcome! Don't worry, you won't actually get lost (unless of course you don't follow the signs or you jump v-boards)!

The courses are set on the trails of the Wapiti Nordic XCountry Ski Centre - located in beautiful Grande Prairie, AB - South on Hwy 40 and Twp Rd 704A). Each course is set on dirt, sand, and forest trails and encompasses a combination of both challenging and rolling hills. The course is suitable for spikes or flats.

All distances are complete loops (meaning ... you do NOT run laps of the same loop except the 42K)! We are so lucky to have over 35km of trails so close to GP.

• 3K & 5K r un the Forest Trails
• 10K run the Forest Trails 5K followed by the very hilly lower 5K
• 21K run the flowy North trails to get warmed up for 11K then join the 10K on the Forest then Lower Trails
• 42K do the 21K course forward & backward

400M ~ Children $free

3K & 5K ~ Youth $35 ~ Adult $55

10K ~ Youth $50 ~ Adult $65 + a small treat

21K ~ Youth $60~ Adult $75 + a small treat

42K ~ Adult $85 + a small treat

Note - all registrants for the 10K, 21K, and 42K distances also need to bring a SMALL TREAT as part of the registration fee! No, we are not kidding! Think a package of gum, sucker, chocolate bar, fizz ~ it isn't for the race organizers, although that would be nice, ~ we sometimes need a little extra motivation when training our youth on the hill climbs. A small treat goes a long way!

Finishing medals for all participants!

Ribbons/medals for top 3 in each category (Sorry no separate medals for Walkers - Thank you for your understanding while we streamline our race!)

Top finisher in each distance gets a prize. All participants are entered for the Draw Prizes!

Race Package:

Race Packages are available race day! Please arrive early to get your bag and attach your race number.

Timing:

This a club fundraiser for youth activities at the Wapiti Nordic and we use "human powered" volunteers to record your time. This allows more of the funds generated to be used to directly benefit the youth. We encourage you to self time and let us know of any discrepancies.

Food & Water:

Water stations located at 5K, 10K, 15K, 21K, 26K, 32K, 37K, 42K

Post race refreshments and snacks provided.

Other Details:

NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS - please!

Washroom facilities are limited (clean outhouses).

Pets are not permitted on the course.
