Nelson Nordic Women's Long Distance Skate Ski Group
Intermediate to advanced Skate Ski Sessions on Wednesday mornings at 10am.
Prerequisite: Intermediate to advanced skier (not newbies). Fitness level that allows you to skate ski continuously for 30 minutes, familiarity with offset and one skate techniques.
If you are a woman into skate skiing and would like to get better at skiing more efficiently or get more kilometres in, now is your chance to do so in a committed, positive and supported environment. We will be offering a 6 week program designed to give you all you need for skiing between 10 to 30 kms more comfortably. Maybe you want to sign up for a loppet and get some more tips or just have a consistent training group to advance with week by week. Your instructor will be with you for 2 hours every session to work on technique as well as skiing longer distances with you at variable speeds.
Dates: January 14, 21, 28 and February 4, 11, 18
Class minimum is 4 people in order to run the sessions. Maximum is 8 people, so don’t delay in signing up as programs begin in January.
Cost: $190 (plus trail fees for non-members)
Be Prepared: Important Information
- Meet outside the Apex Day Lodge for all courses (unless otherwise stated).
- Be ready at the start time of the clinic with (waxed) skis, poles and boots on.
- Be prepared for the weather (toque, gloves/mittens, jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, drinking water, headlamp for evening sessions, etc.)
NO REFUNDS. Prior to first lesson, with doctor's note, a credit, less a 25% administrative fee, may be applied at discretion of the Club. After commencement of program, no refund or credit will be offered.
