Svartbjörnrulleskiloppet (The Black Bear Rollerski Loppet)

Hwy 263 Prince Albert National Park

Kilometres of black velvet, and a little bit of climbing…

A supported point-to-point rollerski north on the scenic route through Prince Albert National Park, finishing in Waskesiu, with snacks at the Waskesiu Trading Company (bakery).

Although it is called a loppet, it is not a race.

It is essentially a well supported, low-key, long distance training ski along one of the prettiest stretches of road in the entire province, during the peak of the fall foliage.

The ski can be done with either skate or classic roller skis.

There’ll be a few distance options

-       65km (approx. 4.5 – 6 hours)

-       50 km (approx. 3.5 – 4.5 hours)

-       30 km (approx. 2 – 3 hours)

-       16 km (approx. 1.25 – 1.5 hours)

Aid Stations at:

-       South Park Boundary

-       Spruce River Highlands

-       Shady Lake parking lot at the Height of Land

Aid Stations will be stocked with water, energy bars, spare poles, and first aid kits
