XC Bragg Creek 2018-19 X-Country Ski Program & General Membership Registration

Unfortunately we are not able to provide make up classes for lessons cancelled due to inclement weather.

Cold Weather cut off is -15C with windchill for bunnies & jackrabbits (ages 5-9).

Cold weather cut off is -18C with windchill for REC & Competitive groups (ages 9-18)

If conditions are considered dangerous or risky, classes are subject to be cancelled.

***SUMMER TRAINING SESSIONS*** (age 12 )

July Sessions $65

Tues July 10,17,24,31, 2018 @ 5:45-7:15pm

(reduced rate when registering for both July & August sessions - $120)

Tuesday sessions include: roller skiing, strength, agility, running/hiking if raining

Tuesday location: Greater Bragg Creek Area

Saturday sessions include: long hikes in the mountains

Saturday location: TBD

*Roller skis are required for these sessions and can be rented from the club at $20/month

*Coach Aaron will be assisting with coaching

*Required minimum of 5 registrants to run the program

***FALL DRYLAND TRAINING (ages 12 )***

Thursdays Sept 13-Oct 25, 2018 (7 sessions) $84

5:00-6:30pm

Location: Greater Bragg Creek Area

Preparation for the ski season- includes outdoor dryland and roller ski training. On snow sessions dependent on snow availability in Canmore.

(strength, core, flexibility, cardio, dryland ski fitness specifics, mental preparation/visualization, rollerski fitness training)

Classic ski gear is required.

A parent or responsible adult must be present during these bunny classes to assist their youngster

***JACKRABBITS (JR) - X-Country Ski Program age 6-9***

Classic ski gear is required, skate ski gear is optional in addition to classic gear. Children in the more experienced groups will be skate skiing in addition to classic skiing.

***RECREATIONAL (REC) - X-Country Ski Program age 9-17 (1 night/week)***

Fridays Nov 30, 2018 - Mar 8, 2019 (11 sessions) $140 (price increase to $170 after Oct 31)

Our Friday recreational ski program will encompass ALL non-race skiers who wish to learn classic ski technique with skill development but without racing. Groups will be split into cohesive skill level training groups (not based on age or friendships).

If there are skiers interested in skate ski technique but not interested in racing, please stay tuned for a potential biathlon program which will include skate skiing....more to come....

***COMPETITIVE - X-Country Ski Program ages 9-12 (2 nights/week)***

Nov 1, 2018 - Mar 12, 2019 ( 31 sessions plus optional Fridays) $475 (price increase to $505 after Oct 31)

Tuesdays 5:30-7:00pm, Friday optional club night, Saturdays 10:00am-12:30pm

Note - Nov 1 (Thurs) will be a competitive group meeting and going over equipment. This will be the only Thursday evening for ages 9-12.

Location: West Bragg Creek Trails/Canmore/Weekend Race Events

Friday club night: 5:00-6:30pm with exception of youth mentor ski nights which will be 4:00-6:00pm on Dec 21, Jan 25, Feb 8. Friday club night will include time trials, fun club ski, games, youth skier mentorship.

This program is designed for athletes who wish to race and develop competitive ski skills in both skate & classic skiing.

Mandatory classic & skate ski equipment, mandatory club jacket & club race suit.

Athletes will be placed into cohesive skill set groups decided by coaches and may be moved around as the year progresses and skiers develop (not based on age or friendships).

Nov 1, 2018 - Mar 12, 2019 (46 sessions plus optional Fridays) $630 (price increase to $660 after Oct 31)

Tuesdays 5:30-7:15pm, Thursdays 5:00-6:30pm, Friday optional club night, Saturdays 10:00am-12:30pm

Note - Nov 1 (Thurs) will be a competitive group meeting and going over equipment.

Please note that individual XC Bragg Creek club memberships of $5 and CCA/CCC memberships (adults $18) are required and purchased on the registration page. These provide our club with liability insurance in case of incident. They are a 1 time annual fee from April - April of each year.

Meeting location for adult lessons is the Trails Centre/Warming Hut at the West Bragg Creek Trails parking lot
