The <CHECK DATE> 2019 BMO Financial Group Downtown Dash will take place the evening of Thursday, <CHECK DATE> July 11, 2019.

The Downtown Dash is a 5 kilometre run in the Downtown area of Corner Brook for runners of all ages and abilities, so whether this is your first 5 K or you’ve lost count of how many 5 Ks you have run, come out and take part in this ever popular event. There is also a 0.5 km run for the young kids and a 2.5 km run for older ones.

Because of construction in the area this year's route is still to be confirmed, but will be announced shortly.

<CONFIRM ROUTE> Because of construction work on Park Street and two-way traffic on part of West Street we will not be able to run our usual course around Park Street and West Street.

<COURSE DESCRIPTION> - Race starts at the BMO parking lot on Main Street and heads towards Riverside Drive.

- Run Riverside Drive and turn left at the second road entrance to Port Corp Building (Pollett Building).

- Run to the far end of Port Corp building, circling the building clockwise and return to Riverside Drive.

- At Riverside Drive turn left and continue approximately 485m to the turnaround point.

- Continue back along Riverside Drive to the Start/Finish area at the BMO parking lot on Main Street.

Corporate Challenge

IF YOU WISH TO ENTER A CORPORATE CHALLENGE TEAM, PLEASE EMAIL events@cyclesolutions.ca TO HAVE IT ADDED TO THE REGISTRATION OPTIONS.

A corporate team must have a minimum of 3 members but there is no maximum number. A team may be made up of employees and members of their immediate families, but at least 50% of the team must be employees. When registering for the BMO Downtown Dash each member will indicate his/her Corporate team. Each team member will pay the standard individual race fee for registration. Points are given for both participation and performance.

Points are awarded in reverse finish order and then added up for all team members. Lets just say there are 125 finishers. Team A has five runners that finish 10th, 15th, 25th 30th and 50. The total points would be 116 111 101 96 76 = 500. Team B has ten runners who finish 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110. Total points would be 106 96 86 76 66 56 46 36 26 16 = 610. Team B wins. So, the more members the better, and if you have a couple of speedsters you may get an edge. But the final point tally tells all! The winning teams will be awarded the coveted BMO Corporate Challenge Plaque for display in their place of business. They'll need to challenge again next year to keep it!
