Red Deer Nordic invites you to take part in a fun 2-day camp to bring in the New Year!!

When: January 3rd & 4th, 2020 - 9:00 am to 4:00/4:30 pm each day

Where: River Bend Golf & Recreation Area, Red Deer (snow permitting)

For whom: athletes 11-17 years of age and coaches. Parents are welcome to join us at no charge (and no need to register).

Cost: $40 per athlete - coaches are free. Please indicate on your registration if you are available to help coach or email Alanna Butler at butlerad@hotmail.com.

Friday Itinerary:

9:00 am - meet in the River Bend clubhouse

10:00 am - classic ski to get to know the trails in age-appropriate groups for technique work.

11:30 am - lunch break (bring your own lunch, drinks and snacks)

12:00 - 1:00 pm - Mental Skills talk with Guest Speaker

Break

1:30 pm - warm up on skate skis with technique feedback

2:30 pm - 4:30 pm fun relays and team sprints

Saturday Itinerary:

9:00 am - arrive at River Bend, split into age groups and pre-ski race course; talk about course tactics

11:00 am - skate race (1 km, 2.5 km, 5 km, 10 km or 15 km)

Lunch (bring your own lunch, drinks and snacks)

2:30 pm-4:00 pm -ski the trails together and work on technique; or take the option to leave if travelling.
