2020 BC Cup 3- Burns Lake

Note: This template has been set up specifically to allow you to easily download the registration data to Biathlon-in-a-Box.

If you want to get your registration data into BIAB, you need to assemble it in the order and format that BIAB expects. When using the new graphical interface, Zone4 produces a report file that has been formatted as a "csv" file. In essence, each report is a table of values, with each row representing one registration or record, with the data in fields, the columns in the table. The columns need to be in a defined sequence. ( CSV or comma-separated values file use commas to show the separation of one field from the next within the file). BIAB expects to see the following 14 fields in sequence, regardless of whether or not they actually contain any data:

  1. Club
  2. First Name (vital)
  3. Last Name (vital)
  4. Address
  5. City
  6. Province
  7. Postal Code
  8. EMail
  9. Cell Phone
  10. Role (vital)
  11. Date of Birth (vital for Athletes)
  12. Gender (vital for Athletes)
  13. Competitor's Class (vital for Athletes)
  14. Notes

You will note that, in this template, these fields have already been grouped at the top of the registration form (Club comes from the first page that the registrant sees) and the fields have been prearranged in the BIAB-required order of fields. This means that you do not have to worry about rearranging the fields when you create the specific custom report that you will use to produce the download-file that you need to import the data into BIAB. You will be easily able to select the required data, by simply checking off the first 14 fields in the list as you create your BIAB Download custom report .

If the registrant does not provide an entry in some fields you do not need to worry. BIAB can probably still import the essential data that it needs. The fields in which BIAB must have data have been marked with "(vital)" in the list above, so that you know what BIAB needs. You will note that all the BIAB-vital fields are 'Mandatory' field as far as the registrant is concerned. As BIAB imports the data for each competitor it Enters them into all the Competitions that have been defined for their particular Competitor Class. In addition, if you so specify as you command the import, BIAB will also Enter the competitor into any predefined Concurrent Events.

The only fields within the template that are currently annotated as 'Mandatory' - meaning the registrant must provide some data, are the fields that are vital for importing data into BIAB . You may wish to change the 'Mandatory' status of a number of fields , especially contact and emergency fields, to also make them 'Mandatory.

Note: You do not need to delete this note from your Registration Form since it has been configured so that it will not appear in what your registrant will see during the on-line registration process.
