45th Manitoba Loppet / MB Cup #3

NOTE: Race has been postponed until February 20th due to forecasted low temperatures.

Welcome to the registration page for the 45th Manitoba Loppet! Registration will be limited to 125 participants, and will close on Friday, February 18th at midnight. Late registrations will not be accepted. All races will be timed, and are classic technique only. We will be doing interval starts to reduce grouping.

Given the current public health situation, we will be running a bare-bones race without the use of a race venue. Start will still be at the Pinawa Club parking lot, but please note: skiers are welcome to use the Pinawa Club as a restaurant, but it is not being used as a race venue. We do not have the use of the deck as a waxing area, so you will have to provide your own and wax in the parking lot. Upon arriving at the Pinawa Club parking lot, skiers and spectators will be directed to an outdoor marshalling area where our race staff will confirm your vaccination status, give you a race bib and send you out on the course for your selected distance. There will be no pre-race meeting prior to or awards after the race. Temperature cutoff for racing will be -15 since there will be no warming facilities for skiers or volunteers. There are four-season public washrooms on Vanier Avenue in the town of Pinawa, and at least one porta-potty will be available in the parking lot at the Pinawa Club.

Covid Precautions

As a CCSAM-sanctioned event, we will be adhering to the policies outlined on their website. Click here for details. It is expected that participants who are elligible will be fully vaccinated, and proof of vaccination will be required. This can either be emailed to the race director Paul Chambers (ultrastick@gmail.com) prior to the race or presented when you pick up your bib. The first option is preferable as it will save time on race morning. Please note that these guidelines include spectators.

Date, schedule and race distances are subject to change depending on snow and weather conditions. Check www.whiteshellskiclub.com for current information.
