2022 Cross-Country Ski Haig Camp

Haig Cross-Country Ski Camp

Preliminary details for the Haig Bow Valley Camp are below.

The camp is dependent on there being enough snow left on the glacier to ski.... The dates are firm for this camp, if we can't go to the Haig, we'll plan other training activities in the Bow Valley area.

Due to group restrictions at the Haig, we've split the week with biathlon

For all groups: Gear flies into the Haig on Aug 2nd. It will fly out on Aug 9th Helicopter Staging and gear drop off takes place at Ranger Creek on the Smith Dorrien HWY.

Tentative Schedule:

August 2nd: Drop gear at Ranger Creek and Bear/ Glacier Safety talk at CNC

August 5th: Meet at Interlakes for departure on hike/ run in

The hike into the camp is around 20 km, Generally the hike up to the glacier each day is around 1 hr followed by 2-3 hrs of skiing on the glacier. The lodge is at 2200 ft and the glacier at 2700 ft.
