
The in-person Loppet returns! We are pleased to bring you the 2023 Lake Louise to Banff Loppet & Relay as an in-person event on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 (back-up date due to inclement conditions is Jan28th). Start time is 0900h.
We are humbled by the opportunity to host this event on the traditional lands of the Treaty 7 signatories who have always been and continue to be of this place ; the Stoney Nakoda nations of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney; the Tsuut'ina First Nations; the Blackfoot Confederacy consisting of the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani and members of Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3.
The course will be prepared from the Chateau Lake Louise to Sawback Day Use (52km).
Current Alberta Health Services precautions will be followed. In the event of an event cancellation due to changes in gathering protocols from the provincial government, we will refund your registration fees.
The course options are as follows:
Solo Skiers: 52km (Lake Louise to Sawback Day Use)
Relay Skiers (2-4 per team): Leg 1 - 21km (LL to Baker Creek), Leg 2 - 10km (Baker Creek to Castle Lookout), Leg 3 - 14km (Castle Lookout to Johnston Canyon), Leg 4 - 7km (Johnston Canyon to Sawback Day Use). Course description here

Note: the Loppet supports the inclusion of all genders; 'women' and 'men' category selection include those who identify as woman/girl, man/boy, trans, non-binary or gender fluid respectively. All are welcome to participate.
