F.I.S. Coop World Cup Forerunner Expression of Interest

February 9th, 10th, 11th and Tuesday February 13th 2024

For Alberta Skiers U20 U18 U16

Selection for forerunners will be based on availability and AB Cup points. Pay attention to dates when applying for selection as some school days overlap with the races.

If you are selected to be a forerunner, we will reach out by email.

Being selected for this role is a privilege and will allow you to ski the same world cup course as the racers on the day of the race. Forerunners will need to stay in Canmore or be prepared to leave early to get to the venue on time.

For selection 2 U20, 6 U18 and 2 U16 from each gender will be picked for the forerunner positions.

Registration Due Date: January 21st, 2024 12:00 a.m. midnight.

Team selection: January 26th, 2024.

Role of a forerunner: A forerunner skis in the tracks ahead of the main race event of the day. This assists with track set up and allows the tracks to be skied in for the world cup athletes. Skiers who are selected as forerunners must be able to ski well and assist in setting up the tracks. This means staying in the tracks where they are installed and not damaging the grooming.
