Bras d'Or Lake/Pitu'paq Big Canoe Brigade

If you are part of a crew, or a crew leader and just looking for the CVBS Participant membership application, you will find it on this link here .

This Initial Registration Form should be completed by the Crew Leader for one boat . If you are responsible for registering more than one canoe, please register each canoe separately.

If you are an unattached paddler looking for a crew, please submit an email with your name and phone number to the Brigade Registrar, Brian Smith (bksmith660@gmail.com). In your email, please describe your big canoe and any brigading experience. Brian will share your contact information with crew leaders who are looking for additional paddlers, and they will contact you.

Crew Leaders, please note, this is only the first part of a two-part registration process. The Initial Registration Form includes contact information for the Crew Leader and a minimum of three crew members; information about the boat; and a non-refundable $300 deposit. Should you need to make changes to your crew registrations, you may do so on the Final Registration form.

The second part of the two-part registration process (completed no later than July 11, 2024) is completion of the Final Registration Form and payment of remaining fees. For crews of up to ten paddlers, the fee is $3000 (minus $300 plus processing fee deposit). For additional participants (paddlers and/or support crew), the fee is $150 per person.

Deadline for the Final Registration Form and payment of remaining fees is July 11, 2024 . Crews may withdraw and be refunded for fees paid (except the $300 deposit) before July 11th. Crews withdrawing July 11th or later and before July 31st will be refunded $1500. After this deadline, fees cannot be refunded.

Although unlikely, if there are more than 10 crews registering for this brigade, organizers may need to deny addition registrations. Should a crew register and not receive a spot in the brigade, they will be placed on a waiting list in the event of cancellations, AND a refund in full will be issued.

YOUNG PADDLERS POLICY: We do our best to encourage young folk to paddle with us. It is expected that a parent/guardian will be present in the boat with paddlers under the age of 12; and traveling with the brigade for paddlers between 12 and 16 years of age.

A non-refundable deposit of $300 (CAD plus processing fee) is required to complete this form and register your boat for this brigade. A second and final registration form and payment will be required before July 11, 2024.
