XCBC Race Support for the 2024-2025 Season

We’re thrilled to share the details of this year’s XCBC Race Support program. This program represents a significant effort from XCBC to make high-quality coaching support available in order to build racing confidence, enjoyment, and promote the overall growth of competitive skiers. In addition, it is designed to provide strong coaching support at races and make competitive skiing economical and accessible for our athletes.

Race support is an optional program that is provided in addition to our regular training sessions. Race support includes dedicated coaching and professional race waxing at XCBC supported races. Details and costs for the program are outlined below.

Here's what you can look forward to for the 2024/2025 season:

Core Race Coaching Support for the Season:

Our core race events for the season are the Alberta Cup races and the Alberta Youth Championships. Coaching support will be provided at all eight Alberta Cup races and the Alberta Youth Championships. We strongly encourage all Nordic Ninjas and Club Racers to take part in these exciting events as part of their skiing development journey!

Core Race support is available for an all inclusive fee of $200 per athlete for the entire season of core races.

Race Support for Elite Events:

Western Championships (Kimberley, BC): We’re excited to extend coaching support to athletes in the U14-U16 age groups and older at the Western Championships. For this event, there will be an additional coaching support fee of $150 per athlete for the entire event.

Sovereign Lake Race: XCBC athletes attending the Sovereign Lake event will be supported by Foothills Nordic coaches. The cost is expected to be $25 per race, per athlete. If you are planning to attend Sovereign Lake, please coordinate directly with Coach Josh regarding race support.

Nationals Championships (Canmore, AB): Race support for this event is targeted to our Club Racer athletes in the U16 category or older. Information about race support availability and costs will be communicated closer to the event.

Please note that the coaching support fees cover on-site coaching and race preparation but do not include race registration fees, travel expenses, meals, or accommodations for the athletes.

If you are interested in joining in the fun of an “away” race by attending the Alberta Cups in Grand Prairie and Red Deer, or Westerns in Kimberly, we encourage families to book accommodation in the same hotels to support team camaraderie. Please take a look at the hotels listed below and book your room(s) as soon as possible as they do fill up during busy sports seasons. These hotels all have breakfasts included as well as pools/hot tubs!
