October 13, 2025 - Walk/run or roll laps of Niven Lake Trail - with Yellowknife Multisport Club

2025 Turkey Trot

This event will be both a Virtual and in person event with the course being laps of the Niven Lake Trail.

This event can be virtual between October 8-13, 2025. Email us to let us know you have completed the event. (ykmultisport@gmail.com)

The in person event will be starting at the Niven Drive entrance and around Niven Lake Trail. Show up between 10 and 11am at the Niven Lake Trail for a staggered start. It’s your choice, Walk/Run/Roll - anything non-motorized - just be legal and be safe!

As usual please note this is a fun non-competitive event!

When running be sure to:

• bring a phone with you for emergency,
• plan proper fueling (food/water),
• dress for the conditions, proper footwear being extremely important,
• Watchout for and stay clear of all wildlife,
• plan your route to avoid congestion and traffic,
• DO NOT use headphones,
• Particularly for Virtual event, notify someone when you start and finish your route. Notify a friend or family member, the ZOOM meeting is NOT notification. (RoadID and Strava have an app!)
• Be reasonable in your choice of trail to complete this on and choose a route that is suitable for you physically.

The only requirement is that you participate and have a good time. Run for a PB, walk with a dog or just have a nice day out celebrating how awesome we/you are!!

Date : October 13, 2025 OR Virtually between October 8-13, 2025

Cost : $20 (participants aged 17** and under are free - a parent or guardian must sign the waiver)

Check in/Start Line:

Virtual - No check in or start line, but you are encouraged to complete the event at the Niven Lake trail.

In Person - NO MASS START - arrive any time between 10am and 11am. Start when you arrive. Complete as many laps as you like of the Niven Trail in either direction. Wish fellow pedestrians a happy Thanksgiving as you see them.

Finish line:

Virtual - Email ykmultisport@gmail.com when you complete the event.

In Person - Finish at the entrance to Niven Trail by Noon. Track your own time for the run/walk event.
