Calgary Gay Ski and Social is a ski club that is primarily for gay men, but open to all members of the LGBTQ community (and allies) in Calgary.

The club is built around three big ideas:

• building technical ski skills
• building ski fitness
• building gay community

2025-26 Season

Skill Development sessions

• Monday group - Skill Development sessions - Includes:
• Monday sessions primarily at Confederation Park Golf Course with occasional Shaganappi Golf Course sessions.
• Monday March sessions at West Bragg Creek - March 19, 26.
• Monday group can attend Thursday sessions at their discretion.
• Thursday House League Time Trials at East Village 645-7pm
• Sunday Morning skis at mountain trail venue
• Invitation to help lead our End of the Rainbow Ski Day - an introductory experience for new Canadian LGTBQ refugees at East Village trails - Saturday Jan 24
• Invitation to attend our Nipika Ski weekend - aiming to rent a cabin at Nipika Mtn resort in February (limited space)
• Beginning when snow is on the ground in Calgary until beginning April (16 week program)
• 630-715 - skate group
• 715-800 - classic group

• Thursday group - Skill Development (SDP) sessions intended for novice skiers - primarily at East Village trails at Confluence Park (formerly Ft Calgary) (6 week program) - includes:
• instructional program - 6-645pm - Jan 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb 5, Feb 12
• Thursday House League Time Trials - 645 - 7pm
• Sunday Morning skis at mountain trail venue

• Thursday Time Trials - East Village trails - something new this - a chance to beat your previous week's time - incredible prizes available - consider this the house league of our ski season - skiers assigned to a house team, aggregate times used for awards - award eligible if attending at least 3 Thursday time trials.
• 645-7pm - Jan 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb 5, 12

Weekend Group Ski - Sundays we meet at a mountain park ski trailhead to enjoy a non instructional group ski.  Begins Sunday Nov 16 until March 28.

• usually meeting at 9am at a trailhead of a mountain park ski area

Fall Roller Ski Program - Sundays 9am - Oct 12, 19, 26 - space for up to 4 skiers. rollerskis provided. Likely we will meet Inglewood and roll down to Alyth Yards on the bike path.

Lake Louise Early Snow camp - Nov 22-23 - staying at Lake Louise Inn - we would do a block booking at either Lake Louise Hostel or LL Inn. LL Hostel provides an opportunity to do a community supper on saturday evening, plus bring your breakfast and lunch food.

Nipika Ski Weekend - Feb 2026 - we are going to try to find a weekend where we can book a cabin at Nipika.

Western Cup - Saturday, April 3- Canmore Nordic Centre - our club season wrap up event
