Biathlon Athlete Fund - Matthew Strum

Congratulations to Matthew Strum who will be racing on the relay team at the first World Cup of the season and will also compete on the IBU Cup tour 1 where he can secure an Olympic spot!

Biathlon Canada Trials was a nail-biter! But Matt's sharpshooting and fast skiing landed him in 4th overall for the Men. This is a great performance because there will be 4 Olympic spots to fill!

As he competes for Canada this season, every race counts for Matt to qualify and secure a spot on the Olympic Team. He's off to a great start!

Thanks to all the supporters who have given Matt their time and help!

And special thanks to Team SPUD and the World Class Coaching Support from Menno Arendz and Brian McKeever who have taken time out of their busy schedules to give him their expertise!

Call For Donations!!

We are calling out to Friends and Family and Biathlon Supporters to help Matthew compete at a World Class Level and continue on the road to his World Cup and Olympic Dreams.

Matt does not receive any funding from Biathlon Canada and so he is responsible for paying for the tour fees himself. Each tour costs $4000-$6000 which he pays on top of his yearly coaching, training and equipment fees.

Matt has been working a lot to pay for his biathlon, along with trying to balance his time with full time training, but the costs to compete are high and it is a struggle to manage.

He would really appreciate any assistance you can give to help him pay for the International tours. If you are able to donate, it would help a lot!

Your donation will go directly to paying for tour fees which will allow Matthew to represent Canada in competing with the 'Big Boys' on the world scene and hopefully race at the Olympics!

Thank you!
