North Zone U12 Race Series

Race #1: Sunridge Ski Cross

Friday, January 30th - Saturday, January 31st

$171 (This includes lift tickets)

Race Format:

Friday: Training Block and Inspection (Mandatory)

Saturday: Ski Cross Qualifications and Race (3 Heat Qualification to Semi-finals of 8 per gender)

Race Schedule:

Schedule and information will be emailed out to registrants the day before the race.

Please prepare for an early morning on both days.

Award Format:

Awards will be 30 minutes after the Finals Heats on Saturday. Medals or Ribbons to top 8 in each class.

Eligibility:

All U12 athletes registered with Snow Valley Racing and in good standing with Alberta Alpine.

Athletes should be intermediate to advanced skiers, comfortable at going high speeds over S/M sized jumps, bumps, rolls, and sharp turns.

Equipment:

GS skis, race gear and a hard-ear helmet. A back protector is strongly recommended, but is not a requirement. Athletes should not have cross blockers on poles or chin guards.

The sign-up deadline is Wednesday, January 21, 2026 @ 11:59 pm.

*Disclaimer: For all Entry Level and U12 camps/races, we provide a specific number of coaches based on the assumption that athletes have the minimum technical ability to ski blue and black runs safely. If an athlete is unable to keep up with their peers, they may be moved to ski with a different group. If there is an issue with athlete ability or behavior, parents are required to be on standby to assist coaches on snow. In some circumstances (and at the discretion of the Head Coach), an athlete may no longer be permitted to participate further in the camp/race. In these instances, parents are required to accept that their athlete has been removed from further participation and a credit will be provided for the days the athlete will no longer be attending.
