Range Access and Closure Procedure

The hours of operation of the biathlon range are from 9:00-20:00. Drop-in use of the range will not be available when there is a training session or event scheduled. Once you are authorized you will be given access to the online booking schedule.

A schedule of the events planned at the range will be posted. A maximum of two unrelated parties may book at one time.

After each use of the range, the range log must be completed with the name(s) of the users and the date.

There will be no parking at the biathlon range. Park in the parking lot and walk to the range.

The range trailer is locked with a combination lock. Please make sure to lock the trailer when you are done. Users will be provided the combination at their range safety session.

Pull ropes, paper targets, paint, tables and tents are stored in the range trailer. Authorized users may use the club’s paper targets but must provide their own ammunition.

When the range is in use by an authorized user, the sandwich board sign saying “Coach on Range” and a whiteboard listing the names of the authorized users present must be displayed at the boundary between the Legacy Park biathlon range and the Squamish Rod & Gun Club. This is the responsibility of the Range Safety Officer.

When the range is in use, the red flag at lane 1 must be displayed. When closing the range, the pull ropes must be put away, paper targets removed, and the metal targets must be painted white and black if used. The Range Safety officer will supervise.

The $50.00 range fee is nominal to cover the cost of paper targets and paint for target maintenance. We rely on range users to contribute their time to help maintain the targets as well as the field and surrounding area.
