Join us for a biathlon format mountain bike and/or running event with the Ecoaim rifles. E-Biathlon!

Dressing as your favourite Alien or Cowboy is encouraged

Ecoaim rifles shoot light pulses into designated biathlon targets. No projectiles. The rifles are very safe and environmentally friendly.

U14: ~8 years to under 14 years as of September 26

If you're 13 years old on September 26 = U14
If you're 14 years old on September 26 = Open category

Open category: 14+ years

Distances & Format

Mass start format with penalty loops

Everyone will run/bike 5 laps and shoot 4 times

Cowboy Biking Distances

Open category: 15.5 km (3.1 km x 5 laps)
U14: 7.5km (1.5 km x 5 laps)

Alien Running Distances

Open category: 7.5 km (1.5 km x 5 laps)
U14: 3 km (600 m x 5 laps)

Penalty loop distances

Bike 150 m penalty loop
Run 50 m penalty loop

Penalty loop specifics

Open category: Bike/run a penalty loop for every missed target
U14: Volunteers will assist in the range and assign athletes penalty loops

Not sure? Try-it Aliens & Cowboys

Try-it Alien: 3 km. Run 600 m x 5 laps, and shoot 4 times
Try-it Cowboy: 7.5 km. Bike 1.5 km x 5 laps, and shoot 4 times

Start Times ( staggered mass start based on category )

Aliens start launching at 10:30 am
Cowboys corral & hop on their bikes at 1:00 pm

Registration Fees:

Complementary participation for all Alien/Cowboy parents accompanying their child

Youth ( under 18 years as of September 26): $20

If you're 17 years old on September 26 = $20
If you're 18 years old on September 26 = $40

Open Category: $40

E-bike s: $40

Try-it Alien or Cowboy: $30

Participating as both an Alien & a Cowboy:

Youth ( under 18 years as of September 26): $30
Open Category & E-bikes: $60

Ecoaim rifle try-it pre-race session & getting your race numbers attached:

All Aliens: 9:30 am
All Cowboys: 12 noon

Event Timing

Self-timing will be in effect, Aliens can use their usual intergalactic timing softwear, and the Cowboys can look at the position of the sun in the sky.

Mass start = first over the line wins the category, provided you bike/ran your penalty loops. We'll be watching
