Para-Biathlon in Ontario Virtual Webinar Series

Part 1: Introduction to Para-Biathlon

Biathlon Ontario invites coaches, officials, club leaders, athletes, and community partners to the opening session of its Para-Biathlon Virtual Webinar Series.

This introductory workshop will explore the foundations of para-biathlon, including athlete classifications, adaptive equipment, shooting formats, accessibility, and athlete development pathways. Participants will also learn how clubs and coaches support welcoming, safe, and inclusive programming.

John Cowan of Arrowhead Nordic Ski Club will facilitate the session. John is an experienced coach and educator in para-Nordic sport. He led the development of Nordiq Canada's Eagle Para Nordic Skills Development Program, a progressive grassroots pathway for athletes with physical disabilities and vision loss. His work focuses on athlete-centred coaching, accessible programming, coach education, and building connections between introductory participation and provincial or national development opportunities.

Coach members attending this webinar will receive PD Points towards their maintenance of their certification.
