Calgary Gay Ski and Social is a ski club that is primarily for gay men, but open to all members of the LGBTQ community (and allies) in Calgary.

The club is built around three big ideas:

• building technical ski skills
• building ski fitness
• building gay community

2026-27 Season

Skill Development sessions

• Monday group - Skill Development sessions - registration - $100
• location - confederation park golf course or shaganappi golf course
• dates - on snow sessions begin Monday, Dec 14

• classic group - 630-715 instruction; 715-800 get out and go ski time
• skate group - 630-715 time get out and go ski time; 715-800 instruction

• Thursday group - Skill Development (SDP) sessions intended for novice skiers - registration - $50
• location - shaganappi golf course unless snow is better at Confed
• dates: Dec 17, Jan 7, Jan 21, Jan 28, Feb 4, Feb 11
• time: 630pm

• Thursday Physical Training Group - no additional cost if you are part of a Monday skill development group
• location - shagannappi golf course unless snow is better at Confed
• dates - starts Thursday, Dec 17 - weekly
• time: 730-830pm

• Fall Roller Ski Program - there will be 2 roller ski groups this year - $20
• Groups
• Long slow disance group - week 1 will be 1.5 hours, week 2 will be 2 hours, week 3 will be 2.5 hours, week 4 will be 3 hours
• New to rollerski group - for people just getting started with roller skiing
• location: usually at pedestrian bridge on 8st across from The Confluence (fort calgary)

• long slow distance group - Oct 4 - 930am, Oct 11 - 9am, Oct 18 - 830am, Oct 25 - 8am
• new to rollerski group - 11am

Dancing with Alara - agility, balance, coordination focused movement experiences - part of our preseason conditioning training - $20

• location: The Archive Collective is located at the back of the Ramsay Design Centre. At that time of the evening, there will be plenty of parking on the North side of the building and also on 11 Street SE. The address is: Suite 130 - 1900 11 ST SE, Calgary, AB

Weekend Mountain Trail ski - no registraton fee -just need to be club member - $5 and pay for your provincial/national sport organization fees - $25

• location - kananaskis country trails or banff national park trails
• dates - varies - either saturday or sunday - starting Nov 14 until March 21
• time - usually meet at trailhead at 930

Early season on snow - a chance to get onto frozen thunder - registration in monday or thursday group gives you access with our club to these sessions - cost: CNCPP trail pass is paid by participants.

• dates: Sunday Nov 1 and Sunday Nov 8
• time: 1pm - 3pm

Lake Louise Early Snow camp - Nov 27-29 - staying at Lake Louise Inn - we would do a block booking at either Lake Louise Hostel or LL Inn.

• location: Lake Louise trails - moraine lake road or great divide trail
• dates: Nov 27-29
• cost - you will pay for your own hotel room - a group booking rate will be provided - and your meals - we will plan on a saturday night supper together at a restaurant in LL

Canadian Berkebeiner - a race event in one of the biggest race events of the year

Nipika Ski Weekend - Feb 2027 - cost: you pay for your hotel and meals - no additional expense for thiis experience - more details to follow

Western Cup - our club season wrap up event includes drinks and lunch and club recognition awards- registration fee to cover expenses of hosting an event at CNCPP.
