Welcome to the Red Deer Nordic and the Parkland Cross Country Ski Club!

Red Deer Nordic (RDN) provides a fun program of training that will provide your children with cross- country ski skills that will serve them for a lifetime. We hope they will join us for games, skill training and fitness; and for those who wish, a chance to compete in local, provincial and national competitions (as Covid allows). Details of all programs may be found in the registration pages that follow.

For adults and children alike, Red Deer has a wonderful network of groomed trails and a vibrant ski community. RDN members automatically become members of the Parkland Cross Country Ski Club and can join in on day tours, mountain back-country fun or lessons, courses, tours and events right here in Central Alberta.

We have mountain ski trips for skiers of all abilities.

Ski rentals - River Bend Golf Course has waxless ("skin") skis available for rent for adults and children. Jack Rabbit , Track Attack and Youth Learn to Ski participants may rent skis and boots for the season when registering here.

Covid-safe measures will be worked into all of our programs.

Fees

Anyone enrolling in a program must be a member of the Parkland Cross Country Ski Club to ensure they are covered by insurance.

Only those actually skiing in a program or in Club events should be registered so that we do not pay to insure those who do not participate.

Our fee structure:

Fees are affected by the amount we pay per participant to Nordiq Alberta (formerly Cross Country Alberta) and Nordiq Canada (formerly Cross Country Canada) to be eligible for insurance coverage and youth incentives. Those fees are $20 per person regardless of age, plus $8 extra for children in Jackrabbit, Track Attack and Youth Learn to Ski programs to pay for mementos provided by Nordic Alberta.

In addition to program fees, Zone4.ca charges a nominal registration fee and collects credit card fees for those choosing to pay by card. The zone4 fees are included in your program fee but the credit card costs will be added at check out. Cheques are also accepted and e-transfers may be made to RedDeerNordicxcs@gmail.com.

Our pricing policies for the 2021-2022 season:

1) Keep prices as they have been for many years for adult members (with very little actually kept by the Club); and

2) Keep the cost for youth members 0-17 equal to that charged by Nordiq Alberta and Nordiq Canada - with nothing extra coming to the club.

3) RDN will pay the Parkland membership fee for all active coaches for the season.

Your personal information will only be shared with the Coaches, Club Executive, Tour Leaders, Cross Country Alberta (CCA) and Nordiq Canada (NC) on an as-needed basis.

All members must agree to the waiver in order to participate in mountain tours, youth programs and other Club activities.

Note: by agreeing to the waiver you are automatically extending the same protection to Parkland Cross Country Ski Club, its subsidiaries, agents and executives.
