La Ronge Sask Cup #1 & #2 (2023-2024)

Welcome to La Ronge Sask Cup #1 & #2 (2023-2024)

Hosted by the La Ronge Nordic Ski Club

Sask Cup #1 and Sask Cup #2 are scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, December 16 & Sunday, December 17, 2023.

Both Sask Cup #1 and Sask Cup #2 will be held at the Don Allen Trails located 20 km north of La Ronge on paved Highway 102. The Don Allen Trails parking lot is at the junction of Highway 102 and the Nemeiben Lake Road. The race registration and start area are located in the Ski Club stadium 75 meters north of the parking lot.

Sask Cup #1 will be a free technique sprint race, with interaval start seeding followed by Kings Court Final held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 . Distances will range from 500m to 1.1 km depending on age and gender. Bib pick-up is 11:00am with the race to start at 12:30 p.m.

Sask Cup #2 will be a free technique distance race held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 . Distances will range from 1km to 8 km depending on age and gender. Bib pick-up is 10:00 a.m. with the race to start at 11:00 a.m.

Race Licenses

This event is sanctioned as a Nordiq Canada Tier 2 event so all U16 and older competitors must have a current Nordiq Canada race license valid for the 2023-24 competition season or must purchase a Nordiq Canada Tier 2 Event License at a cost of $5 per race in addition to race registration fees. Athletes in the U14 and younger categories must have a current Nordiq Canada development license valid for the 2023-24 competition season if they wish to be eligible to earn CPL points. If they do not have this license and are not members of a Nordiq Canada or CCS member club, they are welcome to participate but they must purchase a Nordiq Canada Tier 2 Event License at a cost of $5 per race in addition to race registration fees.


Citizen Racers (non-CCS Club members) are welcome but must purchase a Nordiq Canada Tier 2 Event License at a cost of $5 per race in addition to race registration fees, unless: 1) they live in another province or territory and already hold a valid 2023-24 Nordiq Canada license or development license, or 2) they are in the U14 and younger age categories and a member of a Nordiq Canada or CCS member club.

If the races need to be cancelled due to trail or weather conditions, a cancellation notice will be posted on the CCS website and emailed to all registrants. Skiers will have their race registration fees refunded by cheque.
