Lake Superior Ski Division (LSSD)

District Race Series

The Lake Superior Ski Division (LSSD) is excited to offer a new race series for the 2021-2022 nordic ski season. The series consists of 5 races hosted over 4 months culminating in an overall series winner for each year of birth. There will be a separate registration for each event. There will be awards for the top 3 in each category, as well as the cumulative award that will be presented after Race #5 on Saturday, March 12 at the Lappe Ski Center, or virtually if required.

Race #1 - Saturday, November 27 - hosted by Lappe Nordic at Lappe Ski Center (Low Snow Dates: Saturday, December 4 and Saturday, December 18)

Races #2 & #3 - OCUP#3 - January 29, 30, 31 - hosted by LSNA at Lappe Ski Center

Race #4 - Saturday, February 5 - hosted by Big Thunder at Tour de Kamview

Race #5 - Saturday, March 12 - hosted by Lappe Nordic at Lappe Invitational

Proof of Vaccination for all eligible athletes, coaches, and volunteers is required for participation in this series per the Cross Country Ontario Competition Vaccination Policy dated 4 November 2021. If an athlete turns 12 during the season, they will still be able to participate while working on getting the vaccine.

Race Format: Wave Start - Free Technique

Start Time: 11:00 am

Regular registration closes at 11:59 pm on Thursday, February 3.

No late registrations will be accepted.

Athlete Withdrawal

In the event of withdrawal from the event by an athlete, a refund minus a $5 administration fee will be offered, so long as the request to withdraw is received in writing before the close of registration.

Cancellation by Host

In the event of cancellation of Race #4 by the host club, registrants will have two options:

1. Receive a refund, minus a $5 administration fee, or
2. Apply their registration fees to LSSD Series Race #5 - Lappe Invitational.
